Butina agrees to five-year sentence if she talks

Mariia Butina becomes a martyr today for Mother Russia on Orthodox Good Friday, according to Alexander Torshin, her former handler.
Butina plead guilty to being a Russian spy even though she was born in Severn, Maryland and is an American citizen.
Torshin is retired as head of the Central Reserve Bank of Russia.
The position has been modified.
It is filled by Butina’s cousin, Vladimir Shapovalov.
If Butina talks while in prison, her sentence becomes five years.
The Judge knows it.
The Prosecution knows it.
And her attorneys were in on it too.
Butina knew she was never going to be deported today.
She agreed to it in writing.

Butina will stay in jail through next year’s Presidential Election.
And her co-conspirators never have to be identified or prosecuted.
The conspiracy charge against Butina stuck. She plead guilty to it.
Judge Tonya Chutkan filed an unsigned journal entry of Butina’s deportment back to Russia.
That threat is meant to keep Butina in line or else.

Judge Chutkan has noted in writing a dozen examples of the incompetence of defense counsel.
It provides ample evidence to overturn Butina’s plea agreement.
If she had attorneys who had trial and criminal law experience.
But Butina’s defense counsel never had those skills.
That is why they were chosen to represent Butina.
The latest example of defense counsel’s incompetence was posted in yesterday’s court order:
The defense paid NBC and the Daily Beast to plant false narratives giving the impression that Butina was to released today.
Wire transfers from the Central Bank of Russia are exempt from Treasury and IRS Department scrutiny.
Defense attorneys were paid $438,000 through July, according to Butina’s father.
It was paid through Cuz Vladdy’s Central Bank of Russia.
The intent of the payment was to avoid detection by the feds.
So far it has.
