Cleveland child trafficking Madame to get ten years for fraud on Thursday
Margaret Cole Hughes (above)
Margaret Cole Hughes, 75, is Cleveland, Ohio’s child trafficking Madame.
Instead of 30 years for each count of child trafficking and more jail time for bribing judges in Uganda, she pleaded guilty to fraud.
Plus a fine of $95,000.
Or the maximum of $500,000.
Margaret’s sentencing is 10 a.m. Thursday before Judge James S. Gwin in Cleveland Federal Court.
Prosecutors recommended a maximum jail sentence of ten years.
Their recommendations were summarized in this court filing made today:
Margaret Cole Hughes has never spent a day in jail.
Nor has she ever been booked, fingerprinted, or given a DNA sample.
Margaret is out on a $20,000 unsecured personal bond.
Upon sentencing, will Judge Gwin have her arrested?
Or will she have to surrender to U.S. Marshals on a date specified today by Gwin?
More details are in this story.

Margaret had free rein over selling children through international adoptions for 40 years.
Prosecutors said Margaret Cole Hughes’ company made a million dollars for selling 30 children to families in the U.S. from Uganda.
Plus $500,000 for co-defendant Deborah “Dorah” Mirembe, Margaret’s attorney in Uganda.
Bribes of $10,000 per child were paid to two judges in Uganda who approved fraudulent guardianships used for adoptions.
According to Judge James S. Gwin, Cole-Hughes’ company, European Adoption Consultants (EAC), was never investigated by the FBI or the Justice Department.
Instead, it was the State Department who did the entire investigation said, Judge Gwin.
He named them as prosecutors in the case.
Details are in these stories:
Why did the FBI look the other way?
Because Margaret Cole’s business partner is an FBI informant.
And her stepson, Robert E. Hughes III, works for the FBI.
He investigated her case.
Who is the FBI informant?
His name is Ihor Kolomoisky.
He is the most notorious money launderer and mobster in the world.
Kolomoisky is a billionaire and former Ukrainian politician.
He buys and bankrupts billionaire dollar banks after draining all their cash.
Ihor does the same with billion-dollar blocks of commercial real estate throughout the world including Cleveland.
Kolomoisky launders billions of dollars as easily as one changes their socks.
Ihor is responsible for a regime change in Ukraine resulting in war with Russia.
He financed and appointed his next-door neighbor, a former comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President.
Corporate defense attorneys admitted in court briefs that Margaret’s child trafficking businesses still operate.
Even though Prosecutors think they are closed down.
In fact, Hughes’ co-defendant, Deborah “Dorah” Mirembe, still sells children from Uganda to families around the world.
The FBI has made no attempt to arrest her.
