On Tuesday, a new Pilot Flying J trial was set for Feb. 1st at 1 p.m. in Knoxville Federal District Court.

It is in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Jimmy Haslam is CEO of:

  • Pilot Flying J

  • the Cleveland Browns

  • many other closely-held companies

Pilot sells diesel fuel through its 750 truck stops in the U.S. and Canada.

His other companies specialize in selling:

  • fracking fuel

  • sports merchandising

  • other undisclosed ventures with Warren Buffett who now owns Pilot

The Browns are a professional football team.

The City of Cleveland and the Browns are hosting today’s NFL Draft.

An appeals court ordered a new trial and reversed the jury trial convictions of:

  • Mark Hazelwood, Haslam’s former right-hand man

  • Scott Wombold

  • Heather Jones

So far, 17 persons have been found guilty of the Pilot rebate fraud criminal conspiracy.

This was nearly half of Haslam’s former Sales Department.

Jimmy Haslam got bad news moments from his attorneys before Tuesday’s Cleveland Browns’ press conference about the NFL Draft.

Fast forward the first video to 53 seconds and watch his smile disappear.

Upon conclusion of the Feb. 1st Hazelwood et al. trial, Jimmy’s attorneys anticipate charges against their client.

With 25 of his former sales executives.

The time for prosecuting Haslam and other conspirators in the rebate scam expires on April 15th, 2023.

This includes the rest of his former Sales Department.

Only one person, Karen Mann, was found innocent.

As CEO, Haslam admitted in writing that his company stole $56 million from his customers.

The image on his signature on Page 40, dated July 14th, 2014, is pictured above from the Justice Department website.

Haslam has repeatedly said he “is unaware of any wrongdoing.”

Jimmy never received immunity.

Neither has his:

  • wife, Dee

  • daughter, Whitney

  • son-in-law, JW Johnson

His wife, Dee, remains smiling at Tuesday’s press conference.

She is unlikely to be charged.

But how about her son-in-law, James Woods (JW) Johnson, who married her daughter, Whitney?

They all worked for Pilot.

JW was directly involved in Pilot’s rebate scam as its Wholesale Sales Manager from 2009 until the peak of its rebate scam in 2013.

Now JW runs the Cleveland Browns with his mother-in-law, Dee Haslam.

It was dirty money that allowed the Haslam’s to buy the Cleveland Browns.

And allows her and her son-in-law to run the team.

And attend the NFL’s Owners’ meetings.

And host this year’s NFL Draft.
