Nine surveillance cameras tape video rescue by police of woman drowning in her car

An off-duty cop helped Chinese police save a woman from committing suicide. She drove her car into the Wusong River to drown.

The rescue took 17 minutes.

The woman was never identified. No updates were given on her health status.

An off-duty policeman who was fishing, Wang Liang, witnessed the event. He reported the incident to local police. They called a ferry to pull the car to shore.

The video shows Xie Haifeng, a local policeman, breaking the driver's side window with a hammer and pulling the victim to safety.
