Stephen Stills turned down Monkees
Stephen Stills said the Monkees wanted him, but turned it down, Instead, he recommended they hire his friend, Peter Tork.

Stills was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Once with the group, Buffalo Springfield. The other with Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.
The Monkees have yet to be inducted. The group sold more than 75 million records. In 1967, they sold more than the Rolling Stones and Beatles combined.
Their TV show ran from 1966 to 1968. It was about an imaginary rock band who wanted to be the Beatles, said Micky Dolenz, one of their founding members.
