Top one per cent pay half the income taxes while half pay none

The rich have been "soaked".

The top one per cent pay half the country's income taxes, according to the Tax Policy Center.

In 1979, the top one per cent of U.S. wage earners paid nine per cent of the country's income taxes.

Half the country pays no federal income taxes. The bottom 60 per cent pay less than two per cent of income taxes. The bottom 80 per cent pay 15 per cent of income taxes.
