President Reagan credited his attorney, John Roberts, for winning the landmark Chadha Presidential Powers and Immigration case, issued on June 23, 1983, by the U.S. Supreme Court in INS v. Chadha, 462 U.S. 919 (1983). The primary sources are files, memos, and photos archived in the Reagan Library. Roberts didn't become Chief Justice until September 29, 2005. Instead of Congress fighting with President Trump over power and immigration, it is federal district judges who are involved. They have no jurisdiction over immigration cases.
