Army spent $6.5 trillion, 54 times the amount approved by Congress
Because the Pentagon has never had an audit, no one knows what it spends or where it goes. The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) admitted that the Army spent $6.5 trillion without receipts. That was 54 times the amount approved by Congress.
In 2015, the Army had $794 billion in deposits. It only got $120 billion from Congress. No one knows where the extra money came from. The Army spent $929 billion on credit. No one knows who is to be paid for what they bought.
This information was disclosed last week in a report dated July 26, 2016 by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). It was called the “Army General Fund Adjustments Not Adequately Documented or Supported”. The report is 74 pages long and is linked here:
