Democrats to regain House, Republicans will hold Senate says mid-term report dated yesterday

Above are President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

If the mid-term election were held today, the Democrats will regain control of the House of Representatives. Cook Political Reports also predicts the Republicans will retain control of the Senate.

Cook said they are “certain” that the Republicans will retain at least 50 of the 100 Senate seats. Since the Vice President can vote in the event of a tie, the Republicans will hold the Senate.

However, nine Senate races have been identified as toss-ups.

They are:

  • Arizona

  • Colorado

  • Florida

  • Indiana

  • Minnesota

  • Missouri

  • Montana

  • Nevada

  • Texas

"I expect this year that both the gubernatorial and Senate campaigns in Ohio will be affected by the enthusiasm created in support of or opposition to President Trump," says Mark Weaver, a Republican strategist in Ohio.

Cook predicts that the Senate race in Ohio is over in favor of the Democrats.

Democrats need to win an additional 24 seats to regain control of the 465-member House of Representatives.

There are 250 campaign offices open throughout the country that were used in President Barack Obama's political campaigns.

These offices are now used by a group called Organizing for Action, a non-profit group dedicated to community organizing. President Obama heads this group.

They are being used now to get Democrats elected nationwide.

In two years, they will campaign to get Michelle Obama elected President.

In the last week, according to the Cook Report, only one House race shifted out the “toss-up” category to “likely/lean” to Republican. For Republicans, there remains 29 “toss-up” House seats that are likely to go to the Democrats.
