NASA Chief snubs Trump's "Man to Mars Mission"

NASA's Chief of Human Spaceflight, William H. Gerstenmaier, said his agency "was unable to put a date" on a manned Mars Mission because of a "lack of funds".

President Donald J. Trump signed a bill in March approving $19.5 billion for the project targeted for 2025.

NASA stands for the National Aeronautic and Space Administration.

Gerstenmaier's snub was made while Vice President (V.P.) Mike Pence was visiting NASA. The National Space Council, an advisory group to Congress headed by Pence, is responsible for supervising the Mission.

The Daily Mail, Britain's second largest daily newspaper, said they were "embarrassed" at NASA's snub of manned Mars Mission.

How long Gerstenmaier will keep his job is subject to speculation.
