Judge reduces jail time for vasectomies

His court order reducing jail time 30 days for voluntary vasectomies got Judge Sam Benningfield of Sparta, Tennessee, in hot water.

He was issued a letter of public embarrassment today from his bosses at the Tennessee Board of Judicial Conduct.

Earlier this year, Judge Benningfield kept local urologists busy. His offer was accepted by 77 inmates. The Judge stopped the program in July.
