Judge Rudy Contreras was removed rather than recused from Mike Flynn case
Judge Rudolph "Rudy" Contreras, pictured above, was removed rather than recused from the General Michael Flynn case, according to Joe diGenova, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
Did Judge Contreras sign the warrant application approving the wiretapping and surveillance of General Flynn based on a "Russian dossier"? How and who "randomly assigned" the same Judge to a second case involving Flynn in a different court five weeks later?
Judge Contreras works for two federal courts. First, his main job is a U.S. Federal District Judge for the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C. Secondly, he is also a Judge on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court better known as FISA or FISC. Sources are federal court records:

On Dec. 1st, Flynn appeared before Judge Contreras to plead guilty to lying to the FBI in the U.S. District Court of Washington, D.C. District Court cases are open to the public.
According to diGenova, rather than sentencing Flynn on Dec. 7th, Judge Contreras was removed from the case.
On Dec. 8th, Judge Emmett Sullivan was appointed to replace Contreras to handle Flynn's sentencing. Flynn has submitted new evidence to get his conviction reversed. It remains an open case.
DiGenova said Contreras was removed by either Judge John Roberts or Judge Rosemary Collyer.
Judge John Roberts is Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. He appoints FISA court judges. Judge Contreras was appointed to the FISA Court by Judge Roberts on May 19, 2016:

As Chief Administrative Judge of the FISA Court, Judge Rosemary Collyer could have removed Judge Contreras too.
Flynn worked in the campaign to elect Donald J. Trump President. Flynn was National Security Advisor for President Donald J. Trump for 24 days from January 20th to February 13th, 2017. Flynn resigned from the Trump Administration.
When Judge Contreras approved a FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page, Flynn became the subject of FBI surveillance.
Judge Contreras was hired in 1994 by Eric Holder to join the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C. Holder served for six years as Attorney General under President Barack Obama.
