Russian fugitive, Makarenko, arrested again by FBI, this time for fleeing Miami to escape 20 years in jail for exporting sniper gear

Valaimir Nevidomy was Dmitry Makarenko’s accomplice, according to Valaimir’s plea agreement. Prosecutors have filed sealed indictments against new defendants for future criminal proceedings.
Nevidomy was sentenced to 26 months in jail on June 4th, 2018.
Valaimir and Dmitry were indicted together on June 16th, 2017 for an assortment of felonies including:
two counts of money laundering
conspiracy to export defense articles without a license
four counts of attempting to export defense articles without a license
maximum 20 year imprisonment

They include of sniper equipment including night-vision scopes, rifles, large-rifle ammunition primers, bullet primers, and $30,000 night-vision goggles. Sniper bullets cost $65 to $100 a piece.
These items were shipped from Miami, Florida to Vladivosto, Russia, according to the Justice Department.
Makarenko was born June 30th, 1973. He is a Russian citizen and needs an interpreter for court related events. Nevidomy has become a U.S. citizen after leaving Russia at the age of 14.

Dimitry Makarenko became a fugitive on Jan. 3rd, 2018 to avoid a prison term of up to 20 years.
It was from charges filed June 16th, 2017.
Makarenko was a fugitive until New Year’s Eve when he was arrested again by the FBI. He will face additional felony charges for failing to appear for his sentencing on May 24th, 2017.
No court date has been scheduled.
According to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Dmitrii is being held in Honolulu, Hawaii in a Federal Detention Center.
When Dmitry fled the U.S., he went back to work in his hometown of Vladivosto, Russia.
Makarenko works as a General Partner for Arktayar, a shopping center developer. It is owned by the Russian government and its President, Vladimir Putin.

On Sept. 6th, 2017, Makarenko attended an Economic Forum in his hometown. Vladimir Putin, Russian President, was the featured speaker.
At the Russian Economic Forum, Dmitry was a participant in two assembly sessions on the development of Vladivostok, a port city.

Makarenko is retired from soccer after playing 20 years for Belarus as a defender. He played his first game on May 20th, 1992. He retired Jan. 1st, 2013.
Dimitry played most of his career for Vysheyshaya Liga, one of the 16 teams who play in the Belaraus League. It features the country’s top soccer competition.
