Mariia Butina will be sentenced Feb. 12th a 10 a.m. for being a Russian spy. She has a graduate degree from American University (AU).

Judge Sonya Chutkan is enforcing subpoenas on American University (AU) to release the pictures and names of Mariia’s classmates. AU is fighting the court order to cover up the number of student spies enrolled with Butina.

And CIA operatives too?

Based on class size and the number of courses taken, there are 72 other student spies.

Judge Chutkan said during Butina’s plea hearing on Dec. 12th that subpoenas will be enforced in order to avoid a mistrial. The defense said those subpoenas are necessary to Mariia’s defense. If withheld, Chutkan noted it would be grounds for a mistrial and the plea bargain negated.

Who is Miss Butina ratting on to reduce her sentence from five years to six months to time served?

Butina is under a gag order by the Judge. She is unable to talk to reporters about her case.

Was Mariia born in the U.S. in Maryland to an American serviceman? If she is an American citizen, she is innocent of the charge she is pleading guilty to.

She may be guilty of other charges.

However, Judge Chutkan has agreed to grant Butina immunity on Page 39 of the plea agreement attached here:

She said she is a Russian citizen. Butina is pleading guilty to one count of “conspiracy to act as a foreign agent without prior registration”.

In other words, she is pleading guilty to being a Russian spy.

Butina admitted under oath that she received $125,000 from Oleg Deripaska. It was for expenses.

Deripaska is a Russian billionaire. He is in business with the Russian government and its President, Vladimir Putin.

The Judge and Prosecutor have admitted there is no precedent or sentencing guidelines in Butina’s case. Her attorney has asked for the sentence to be six months. The Judge has the discretion to sentence her to five years.

Mariia said her first name is spelled with two i’s.
