Paul Whelan is no longer in Moscow, said Sergei Lavrov, the head of Russia’s Foreign Ministry.
Lavrov said Whelan is a spy who was “caught red-handed” with a thumb drive containing names and profiles of Russian undercover agents.
Whelan has been recruiting Russian snipers for CIA missions in the U.S. for 13 years, according to his social internet profiles in VK, Russia's version of Facebook.
Lavrov is President Vladimir Putin’s right-hand man regarding foreign policy and foreign affairs. Lavrov’s comments were made earlier today at a press conference in Moscow.
Lavrov said the Russians have been watching Paul Whelan “for quite some time” meaning ten years.
