Judge Tanya Chutkan was assigned the Fusion GPS, Imran Awan, and Mariia Butina cases. Neither the Judge or Butina’s defense attorney, Robert Driscoll, have tried a criminal case. Neither the Judge nor the Prosecutor can find guidelines on which to base Butina’s sentence. Nor do they have last year’s sentencing guidelines. Sentencing is Tuesday.

Paul Whelan is no longer in jail in either England or Wales, according to the Prisoner Location Service in Great Britain. Whelan’s prison sentence started Nov. 20th. On Dec. 28th, he was arrested in Moscow. He is no longer in either jail. His whereabouts are unknown. Is this the same person?

Based on class size and the number of courses taken, there are 72 other student spies. Butina is ratting on them in order to reduce her jail sentence from five years to six months, according to her attorney.

Whelan is a silent partner in a Hallandale Beach, Florida gun store called Aquila Arms LLC. The illegal arms scheme of selling sniper gear to Russia has already resulted in the conviction of an American citizen, Vladimir Novidomy. He is serving a 26-month jail sentence. Dmitry Makarenko was charged in the same case. Dmitry was arrested the day after Whelan was arrested in Mosow for being a spy. The court ruled Makarenko a fugitive for missing two sentence hearings. He left Miami and moved back to his hometown in Russia, Vladivoskok.

Makarenko, a Russian citizen, was a fugitive until Dec. 31st when he was arrested again by the FBI. He fled the U.S. to return to Russia to avoid a pending sentence of 20 years in prison. His indictment was June 16th, 2017. His charges include exporting illegal sniper equpment. Prosecutors plan more indictments.

Maria Butina’s guilty plea of admitting to being a Russian spy closes the case. In effect, she is taking the rap for 69 other classmates at American University (AU) who were student spies for the Hillary Clinton Campaign for President.

Hazelwood was to begin a jail sentence of 12 and a half years today. Instead, he gets to stay in home custody through Christmas. Pending appeal, Hazelwood was denied release from custody. He remains “a flight risk” to avoid prison by leaving the country. The Judge also said he was a “risk” to commit “further white collar crimes.
